Mother - MDV

We went to the zoo this weekend so it was easy for me to get a mother shot.  Edited in Lightroom with some free preset downloads.  Other than that there was just a little crop.

Tree- ARN

Well,
walk around the wooded areas of Denver long enough and you are bound to find someones home. that's what I have here. I think the shelter from the trees might help a little, and at least its away from any major roads. I had been snapping pics of the dog on program mode earlier in the hike, so I let the camera chose everything for me.... I didn't even bother to check settings I realize now as I'm typing this.

a week behind, but I got it finally... Growth, and also decay in the same picture. a bit cliche, but I kind of like the idea.
24mm. and I used all manual exposure and the sunny 16 rule... f16 iso 400 shutter speed 1/400.

Trees - MDV

Snow Trees

This is loosely trees but the intent was to use the trees to frame the subject and get some blur from the snow.  The subject was not super keen on sitting out in the snow so I only got a couple snaps.  I added an off camera flash that was sitting on a table below the woman.  When I get to shoot this again I will have the flash higher to get the loop lighting.

Exposure 0.011 sec (1/90)
Aperture f/8.0
Focal Length 75 mm
ISO Speed 100

ARN.... is a slacker

so... I'm falling behind on week 2!!!
Prepping for my commercial check ride has me forgetting to do things like use the camera I carry around in my flight bag!
I kind of want to cheat and put the construction pic from a few weeks back as "growth", but I will stick to it and get my growth shot posted asap. I have 2 good ideas for it, I'll not give it away, and I promise I'll make it distinctly different than my "trees" picture!

Growth - MDV

This was taken on my phone as I was getting gas this morning.  I wish I would have had some zoom but it still looks ok.

Edit:  The more I look at it the more this picture lets me down.  From the top of the hill Pikes Peak looked like it was "growing" out of the clouds.  Here it looks like I a framing the mountain with the trees.  Not quite what I intended.  I guess this might be a good one for this weeks challenge of trees.

No joke these were the camera settings.  Crazy digital camera phones.
